AIDS and It’s Affect on Family

Sherry Bronson, TV Host of Dream By Faith Interviews Kimberly Edwards. Kimberly’s story is echoed by millions of children around the world who have been left behind by the AIDS/HIV epidemic. She tells us the pain, emotional distress, and the extreme pressure placed on the children who are forced to grow before their time and take on the role of parent. Her life is a true testament to the power of unconditional love, hope, and faith.

HIV/AIDS epidemic is killing women especially African American women. In order for women to protect themselves, should they be afraid to ask their husbands, mates or partners get tested for the AIDS/HIV virus?

Of course, women must become proactive and educate themselves also on how to protect themselves and their children.

Give us your sincere comments.

God, Give Me A Break – Please!

Breaking the Strongholds!

Has life ever weighed you down and you screamed out loud to God and said give me a “break” please? And nothing changed! The growing pains of walking with Christ can be overwhelming sometimes. Especially, if you lack the resources needed to provide for your family, take care of day-to-day responsibilities, pursue your dreams/passion or even a professional degree. If your emotions are out of control and it feels like the walls are closing in and no one in this world can help you. It is time for you to be still and let God be God in your life!

Stumping your feet, threatening not to serve his people,  and screaming to the top of your lungs doesn’t move our God. By demonstrating those emotional dramatics will only delay you in receiving the promises of God. His will be done no matter what! We must continue to realize that he loves and believes in us more than anyone else.

Instead of panicking when the hardships of life cloud your thinking, please allow the holy spirit to rule over your carnal self (flesh).  Our carnal self (flesh) always wants the easy way out. It’s his nature! God’s spirit is our counselor, guide, and comforter in the tough times. Trusting God has to be on the forefront of your mind daily to get the victory. When the holy spirit is leading, you will always be able to find relief because you know help is on the way!

If our lives are not rooted in fervent prayer and meditation on the goodness of God, the growing pains can sometimes cause fear, distrust, and discouragement.

I want to encourage you today. Don’t allow your emotions to get the best of you. When God is stretching and pruning you, please allow him to work on you. Believe it or not, the trials/tests are to remove more of our carnal ways and making us more like him – Jesus! That may sound very simple. It really is!!

Inspirational Scripture:

And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. Romans 5:3-5

Tell us your thoughts about growing pains!!! Write your comment!

Michelle Obama’s Inspiring & Extraordinary Speech!

Watch Michelle Obama’s speech below in this blog – (please scroll down)

As I waited with great anticipation to hear Michelle Obama on Monday night 8/25/08, I must say that I was feeling all kinds of emotions - happiness, a little anxiety, feeling impatient because of the importance of her speech. When she walked to that podium, I felt a great sense of pride as an African American woman.

She is a true testament of divine favor and the grace of God (Jesus). God chose America to be the land of opportunity to all that work hard and believe that all things are possible. I am living God’s dream and purpose for my life. I know that my dream is much greater than myself and listening to Michelle reinforced that God is still in control and I must keep on walking by faith and looking to him for my strength.

During her speech, I did shed tears of joy and excitement at the possibility that as African American women that we would be accepted as smart, talented, and BEAUTIFUL inside and out.  By sharing her version of an American Dream success story, she empowered and inspired women of all colors and backgrounds to have the courage to step out and just take the first step to be all God has created us to be.

I end by saying to you that you are uniquely created with gifts and talents that no one can take away. If you are not living the life that you deserve, it is your fault. Lift up your head, pull your shoulders back, stand up and walk into your divine purpose and destiny with dignity, self-respect, and confidence. And your life will never be the same!

Let’s Talk: Please give us your comment about last night’s speech!

Sherry
